PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Eternal God, as the Christ, you showed us that love looks not to its own interests, but to the interests of others.  We lament how little we resemble you in your humility, dedication, and love.  We are driven too often by ambition and conceit.  We defend our views, arguing without understanding.  We speak of love, but resist the sacrifices love requires.  Gracious God, you are at work in us.  Fill us and shape us with your Spirit, that we may will and work for your pleasure, loving our neighbors as ourselves...

Silent Prayers of Confession

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS     

Though Christ was one with God, he humbled himself and become obedient even to the point of death on a cross, so that we might drink deeply from the well of grace and know the mercy of God at work within us.  Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: Your sins are forgiven.
