God our Father, in the wrong we have done and in the good we have not done, we have sinned in ignorance; we have sinned in weakness; we have sinned through our own deliberate fault.  We are truly sorry.  We repent and turn to you.  Forgive us and renew our lives through Jesus Christ, our Lord…

Silent Prayers of confession

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS – 1 Peter 1: 8, 9

We read in the letter of Peter: “Although you have not seen Jesus, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”  The good news therefore is this: in Jesus Christ we are loved and we are forgiven.
