Wonderful are your works!

Wonderful are your works!
You call us as your people.
Wonderful are your works!
You live in our very lives.
Wonderful are your works!
You love us forevermore.
Wonderful are your works!
*PRAYER OF THE DAY
*HYMN 624 I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art
PRAYER OF CONFESSION- Thomas à Kempis
In confidence of your goodness and great mercy, O Lord, I draw near unto you, as one sick to the healer, as one hungry and thirsty to the fountain of life, a creature to the Creator, a needy soul to my only true comfort. Behold, in you is all that I can or ought to desire. You are my salvation and my redemption, my help and my strength. Cleanse and make glad therefore this day of your servant, for unto you, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul…
Silent Prayers of confession
WORDS OF ASSURANCE – from 1 Tim. 1:15; 1 Peter 2:24
Hear the good news! The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might be dead to sin, and alive to all that is good. I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH From a Brief Statement of Faith
In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve. We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The same Spirit who inspired the prophets and apostles rules our faith and life in Christ through Scripture, engages us through the Word proclaimed, claims us in the waters of baptism, feeds us with the bread of life and the cup of salvation, and calls women and men to all ministries of the church. With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
