PRAYER OF CONFESSION Alcuin of York
Almighty and merciful God, fountain of all goodness, you know the thoughts of our hearts. We confess we have sinned against you, and done what is evil in your sight. Wash us, we pray, from the stains of our past sins, and give us grace and power to put away those things that hinder us from you. Delivered from the bondage of sin, may we produce the fruits of repentance and persevere to your glorious end…
Silent Prayers of Confession
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -- 1 John 1:9
Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: our sins are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!
