WELCOME AND CONCERNS OF THE CONGREGATION
PRELUDE
*CALL TO WORSHIP –from Psalm 95
Leader: O come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker!
People: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
*PRAYER OF THE DAY
*HYMN 645 (vss. 1 & 4) “Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above”
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment. Set us free from a past we cannot change. Open us to a future in which we can be changed, and grant us grace to grow in your image, through Jesus Christ our Lord…
Silent Prayers of confession
WORDS OF ASSURANCE – 1 John 1:9
Remember the words of Scripture, where it says, “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: Our sins are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
