PRAYER OF CONFESSION - St. Augustine

Creator God, who did not forget me when I forgot you, enter this soul which you inspired with longing. For not even the heart which is most turned in on itself can hide from your sight. So find me in my seeking, that I may discover it is for you alone that I long…

Silent Prayers of confession

WORDS OF ASSURANCE – Romans 4:25

Hear the Word of the Gospel: “Christ was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” All you who repent of your sin and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for your salvation, rejoice and be glad and give glory to the Lord who has taken away all of your sins in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Thanks be to God!

SCRIPTURE LESSON: Luke 24: 36-48

SERMON: “Seeing and Not Believing” Rev. Barrett Ingram

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the

third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

*“catholic” (little c) is translated as “universal” and is not a reference to the Roman Catholic Church.
