PRAYER OF CONFESSION                    

Gracious God, we confess that we are uncertain.  So many things that seemed sure and good have led us astray and exhausted us.  So much of what we have tried to do has disappointed those we love, failed to help our neighbors in need, and emptied us of conviction and hope.  We do not know what we are looking for.  Deliver us, O God, from all that is desolate and vain.  Set our feet upon solid rock. Open our ears to hear you.  Fill our hearts with trust and our mouths with praise for the saving help and steadfast love you show to us…  

Silent Prayers of Confession

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -- 1 John 1:9   Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: Our sins are forgiven.
