A SERVICE OF WORSHIP FOR THE LORD’S DAY
Seventh Sunday after Pentecost
July 7, 2024
WELCOME AND CONCERNS OF THE CONGREGATION
PRELUDE “From God I Will Never Turn” Dietrich Buxtehude
*CALL TO WORSHIP – Isa. 55:1–3
Listen, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters!
You who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not
bread and your earnings for that which does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food.
Incline your ear, and come to me;
listen, so that you may live.
*PRAYER OF THE DAY
*HYMN 475 Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name…
Silent Prayers of Confession
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Hear the good news: there is forgiveness and steadfast love with God who saves us from all our sins. God has shown this love for us in that, while we still were sinners, Christ died for us.
Thanks be to God!
