Leader: Worthy of praise from every mouth,

People: worthy of confession from every tongue,

Leader: worthy of worship from every creature,

People: is your glorious name,

O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

People: and by your compassion you saved the world.

Leader: To your majesty, O God,

ten thousand times ten thousand bow down and adore,

People: singing and praising without ceasing, and saying:

Leader: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts;

People: heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

*PRAYER OF THE DAY

*HYMN 1               Holy, Holy, Holy!  Lord God Almighty!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of grace and love, we confess that we have failed to love you with all our heart, soul, and mind; and to love our neighbor as ourselves.  We ignore your commandments, stray from your way, and follow other gods.  Have mercy on us.  Forgive our sin and raise us to new life that we may serve you faithfully and give honor to your holy name…

Silent Prayers of Confession

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

“...God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us,” and God’s love for us is demonstrated in this: “...while we still were sinners Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:5, 8) The good news therefore is this: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

Thanks be to God!

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH        The Apostles’ Creed         pg. 35

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
