One:    “If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom be like the noonday.” 

All:      “The LORD will guide us always; he will satisfy our needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen our frame. We shall be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

One:    Let us worship the God who guides us and empowers us to bring light to the world.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION                    

Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light, and to walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord…

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS – 1st John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: Our sins are forgiven.
