PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Mighty deliverer, you open to us the highways of freedom, yet we stay on familiar paths of bondage. When Jesus calls us to follow, we try to justify our desire for our own way. We are neither ready nor fit for your service. Still, you claim us as your own. In mercy, forgive us, renew us, empower us – that we may live by the Spirit, bearing good fruit to your honor and glory…

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

“...Your way, O God, is holy. You are the God who works wonders; you have displayed your might among the peoples. With your strong arm, you redeemed your people...” (Psalm 77: 13, 14). And that redemption was given a human face... “in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8b). Friends, believe the gospel: in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
