Leader: my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

*PRAYER OF THE DAY

*HYMN 624     I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Gracious and merciful God, who has created and redeemed us and who sustains our lives: we confess to you our sin. We have been given much, but have too often responded with too little. Forgive our doubting hearts and mistrustful lives. We worship you with our lips, but our lives do not shout forth praise. Forgive our sin that we may love you and serve you with all our heart and strength and might. In Christ’s name we pray…

Silent Prayers of confession

WORDS OF ASSURANCE from Romans 6:22-23

Now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Friends, believe the good news.

In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

*GLORIA PATRI     “Glory Be to the Father”                #581

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen, amen.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH        The Apostles’ Creed           Page 35

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
